My Story
I’ve had a “creative itch” for some time now but was always busy living in the city with a full time desk job. Life has changed considerably after moving to a beautiful area surrounded by gorgeous scenery, plant and bird life in the Rotorua lakes district. I now have two pre-school aged children and while in some ways life operates at a more hectic pace now, having a busy lifestyle helps to stimulate motivation. I feel really inspired by our surroundings and needed to satisfy that itch.
I care deeply about our environment and try to tread lightly on this amazing planet earth. The native birds that have motivated my creativity will be seen and heard less if we humans don't co-exist in harmony. It is my wish that collectively all humans can make a commitment to enjoy - not exploit - nature's richness.
New Zealand is home to a number of birds that live nowhere else on Earth. Known for its dawn chorus, without introduced predators, the New Zealand bush at one time pulsed with the sound of native birds.
As a family we’re regularly out and about exploring amongst nature – walking, mountain biking, swimming and camping – and I find myself often stopping to admire various birds and plants. There's a LOT of inspiration out there!
